Senior Sales Consultant

Full-Time // Remote or Lynchburg, VA

At Knapsack, we create exceptional client experiences through custom-designed Squarespace websites. Our quick and pain-free process empowers small business owners to share their stories, connect with their audiences, and grow their brands confidently. 

As a Senior Sales Consultant at Knapsack, you will be responsible for selling a website project to our prospective clients. You will be our first point of contact maintaining and growing the Knapsack Creative brand.

In this role, you’ll take charge of your own pipeline, turning initial conversations into valuable business opportunities. Your day-to-day will involve leading strategy sessions to assess client needs, outline project scope, and demonstrating how Knapsack can help clients achieve their goals. You willl be empowered to leverage your skills and creativity to showcase our unique value and drive growth. Your Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships to ensure a consultative sales approach for website, SEO, and copywriting services.

  • Serve as the face of the company at events, on podcasts, and through social media posts, representing the brand and building credibility with prospective clients and partners.

  • Stay informed on the latest developments in Squarespace, SEO, and digital marketing strategies, leveraging both internal resources and industry updates to provide cutting-edge insights to clients.

  • Educate prospects on the value of our website, SEO, and copywriting services from an expert perspective, tailoring the pitch to their business needs.

  • Move all prospects efficiently through the proper stage of the sales pipeline using the CRM, ensuring accurate tracking throughout the day.

  • Maintain a clear, detailed, and up-to-date pipeline in the CRM, including all relevant deal progress and client information.

  • Leverage the internal database and external sources to identify and qualify new leads, ensuring a steady flow of potential clients into the pipeline.

  • Build and nurture referral networks and strategic partnerships to generate new sales opportunities and enhance market reach.

  • Follow up diligently and consistently with potential clients over extended periods to nurture long-term relationships and drive conversions for high-ticket services.

  • Document all interactions with prospects and clients in the CRM “notes” section to maintain a comprehensive history for each lead.

  • Allow leadership to shadow calls periodically and provide actionable feedback to refine techniques and improve outcomes.

  • Be consistently available during core business hours (9 am-5 pm EST) to handle client calls and inquiries, ensuring quick response times.

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop ideas to better serve client needs and improve overall sales strategies.

  • Monitor and report any patterns of client feedback—positive or negative—that could inform adjustments to our service offerings or sales approach.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions between the sales process and project execution, fostering a seamless client experience.

Desired Skills

  • Experience selling services such as website design, SEO, or copywriting to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). 

  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly over the phone and in virtual meetings, with the ability to engage and persuade prospects effectively.

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, specifically working with Small Business Owners (SMBs) and understanding their unique challenges and goals.

  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations tailored to the needs of business owners, showcasing the value of customized digital marketing solutions.

  • Eager to adopt and master new sales processes and techniques to continuously improve performance.

  • Routine-oriented, thriving in structured environments while maintaining adaptability to changing priorities as the business grows. 

  • Motivated by growth opportunities and open to scaling responsibilities as the business evolves.

  • Self-driven and capable of managing time efficiently, balancing client follow-ups, lead generation, and administrative tasks independently.

  • Highly organized with the ability to maintain a well-documented pipeline in the CRM that is transparent and easily reviewable by the Sales Leader.
