8 Sites Built with Squarespace's Fluid Engine in 2023
We’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible companies this year. Thanks to Squarespace’s new editor, Fluid Engine, and our team of incredibly talented designers, we’ve built some of our best sites yet.
Here are 8 of our favorite Squarespace Fluid Engine examples
1. Hypothesis Group
Hypothesis Group combines insights, strategy, and design to help brands unlock new opportunities. A few noteworthy features of this beautiful site, made possible by Fluid Engine and some custom code, are:
Unique animations and hover effects
Flexible layouts with overlapping elements
A custom gradient in the background of the footer
2. Discretion Capital
Discretion Capital is a boutique investment bank that specializes in sell side M&A for B2B SaaS. A unique feature we integrated on this site is the sequential arrows pointing to the content below.
Previously, this wasn’t possible in Squarespace because of the lack of flexibility of the Classic Editor and the inability to control content blocks on mobile. Now we can overlap elements and better control where they live on both desktop and mobile.
3. Mind Channel
Mind Channel is a global leader in microlearning content, with a library of over 300 unique courses, designed to help professionals grow. Our favorite new feature in this site was the overlapping scrolling bar used in several headers and the footer.
4. DataShapes
DataShapes provides AI-powered signal and waveform intelligence. Squarespace’s shape block made building out several sections on this site easier, including the section with the icons. We also used the newer “saved sections” feature to repurpose content on this site throughout similar page layouts.
5. Boom Productions
Boom Productions is a full-service production and casting company producing incredible work with well-known brands. A notable feature on this site is the use of overlapping rectangles and lines within the text — once again, a feature not possible with the previous editor.
6. Simple Sales Pipeline
The Simple Sales Pipeline® platform will organize and value any construction sales rep's roster of customers and prospects in under 30 minutes. With the help of Fluid Engine, we were able to get a unique and custom-looking quote block with various overlapping content blocks. We were also able to create unique textures in the background with overlapping elements without having to create everything in Photoshop.
7. Summit Financial Advisors
Summit Financial Advisors is an SEC-Registered investment adviser and independent wealth management firm based in California. One unique feature that we’ve never been able to do before is add a unique transition (in this case, clouds) in a section with a background video. This gives the video sections a unique dimension that feels more dynamic than just a typical straight line transition.
8. Gamble Creek Farms
Gamble Creek Farms is a 26-acre farm in Florida that serves as a community hub and a source for fresh produce and locally-grown items. Our favorite new feature on this site is the ability to have a speech bubble pointing to a portion of an image.
Why we love Fluid Engine
Fluid Engine is extremely flexible so we’re no longer confined to the 12-column grid. Content blocks can overlap and move freely within a section, allowing us to create dynamic and interesting designs. Also, editing the mobile view independently from desktop has been a game-changer!
